The NZXT HALE90 750W power supply produced good quality DC rails with very little AC ripple/noise. The efficiency wasn't quite up the level required by the 80 Plus Gold standard following the OCC power supply testing methodology, but most power supplies seem to fall a little short in this department. (I can't exactly replicate the rail loading levels used during 80 Plus testing so it's probably the methodology rather than the power supplies). The NZXT HALE90 750W power supply did reach 91% efficiency (230VAC) which is still up there with other power supplies in its class claiming 80 Plus Gold efficiency.

The NZXT HALE90 750W power supply got a little warm during testing thanks to a cooling fan that remained at or around 700 RPM at all times. I've come across this same behaviour very recently and on investigation the Sentey Golden Steel Power 850W and the NZXT HALE90 750W are based on the same Super Flower design. The introduction of a little warm air into the NZXT HALE90 750W power supply, like the Sentey, caused the cooling fan speed to ramp up to 1400 RPM.

The NZXT HALE90 750W power supply produced good quality DC across all the rails with high efficiency. The build quality is good and I'm sure the white finish won't be to everyone's taste, but it's certainly different and I have no hesitation in awarding it a OCC Gold award.

"The Hale90 has been in the test systems for a few weeks now, and I’ve got to say I’m pretty happy with it.  It certainly is more power efficient than the Thermaltake EVO_Blue 550W from the old benchmark system.  The white casing at first seemed like an odd choice, but I’ll admit it makes finding the modular cable sockets quite a bit easier.  Speaking of modular cables, the “any cable, any socket” layout of this PSU is great.  Add in the quiet operation, and this power supply could be in a larger HTPC.

The bottom line here is the NZXT Hale90 is an excellent, efficient line of power supplies, and has earned the Icrontic stamp of approval."

"We were not expecting to get such good results when NZXT offered us the HALE90 750W power supply for testing. The SuperFlower design is extremely capable and this product offers high levels of efficiency, low noise and excellent voltage regulation."

"The NZXT HALE90-750M is one of the more expensive PSUs in this test with a price of around $150. Fortunately, it doesn't have to rely on its looks to back up that price, as it sports a rather uncommon white enclosure. Except for the ATX and CPU cables, all cables are modular. All the modular cables are flat and of high quality, contributing to an optimal air flow in the computer case. Like the majority of its competitors, NZXT equips this PSU with four PCIe connectors. The only 12 V rail can deliver up to 62 A."

"The NZXT HALE90 750W has everything to satisfy computer enthusiasts of all sorts. Need lots of power? Check. Good looks? Check. Modular cables? Check. Acoustically silent? Check. From other reputable independent sources, it is clear the HALE90 also delivers high efficiency in conjunction with excellent load performance. For about $140 at press time, I would expect a little bit better internal build quality, but it gets the job done, and the results speak for themselves."

“The NZXT HALE90 750W is the first NZXT power supply we have reviewed and it certainly made a very good first impression. With its very good build quality being accented by a unique, striking, bold, and well done cosmetic treatment the HALE90 750W set out from the get go as a product we would not soon forget. This intriguing, but not over the top, exterior was coupled with very good voltage regulation, excellent efficiency, and very good DC Output Quality. The NZXT HALE90 750W really does hold its own on almost every front with other top power supplies in the ~750W realm. This combination of striking good looks and solid performance numbers the NZXT HALE90 750W gives us as potent a one two punch combination as we have seen since Mike Tyson took the boxing world by storm. Couple all of this with a price coming in at $139 with Free Super Saver Shipping and the NZXT HALE90 750W is right in line with other premium offerings while giving users cosmetic options we have not seen out of quality power supplies since the days of the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750.”

“Compared to previous NZXT power supplies, the HALE90 750W offers a big improvement in efficiency, while keeping the price at a very reasonable level. I found the HALE90 750W online in the $140 to $160 range, making it the least expensive 80Plus Gold rated power supply I could find in the 750W class. Coupled with its stable power, flexible modular cable design, quiet operation and five year warranty, the HALE90 750W looks to be a great buy.”
