“At the end of the day it was a pretty easy choice to award the NZXT Vulcan Micro ATX case our "Editor's Choice - Gold" award. The design of this case is great, the quality is very good, and the features are excellent. If you're looking for a smaller case that is still able to handle high-end gear then the NZXT Vulcan Micro ATX case deserves you consideration.”

“All in all, the NZXT Vulcan is a well designed small form factor case that is packed with features. For the price (currently $69.99 at Newegg), this case is a true value and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a portable mATX solution. We’re happy to award the Vulcan the Icrontic Outstanding Product award!”

“The NZXT Vulcan is quite possibly one of the most well-designed micro-ATX cases I've ever tested. The overall design, expandability options, support for the longest graphics cards on the market, and competitive price point really puts it into a class of its own.”

“Finally, there is performance. In this regard the Vulcan once again impresses. It has a huge amount of ventilation which ensures a low operating temperature and the installed fans are whisper quiet at low speed, the setting which most consumers will use.”

“This is a fantastic case.  It’s light, stylish, and fits all of my components very efficiently. I have so many more good things to say about this case than bad. This will most likely be the new case I hang on to for years and years, but this time because it’s absolutely ideal for me, not because nothing better pops up on it’s own.”

"The NZXT Vulcan performed exceptionally well for a mATX chassis. The excellent cable management and mesh material proved to be a winning combination in ensuring optimal airflow during operation. The built in fan controllers also made for a quieter experience when not in gaming mode, while giving us the option of cranking it to max when we demand high performance later. Despite being small, its steel body adds a lot of weight to the Vulcan. Thankfully the optional handle makes transporting the system around much less of a chore."

“NZXT has once again delivered a quality case with unique features and a well thought out design that will please any PC enthusiast or regular user alike.  The inclusion of features such as wire management, space for dual large graphics cards, fan controller & 5 fan mounts (200mm side option!) are welcomed, similar options are usually only available on larger full tower cases. All black finish provides a touch of class to the overall well finished exterior of the chassis. Dual channel fan controls provide the user options when installing cooling fans and the on/off buttons for fans & lights on top is a great feature that will be enjoyed by any user. The top mounted USB, audio, eSATA ports, and durable carry handle all increase the case usability. With a current market price of about $70 the VULCAN is not the cheapest mid-tower case, but when you consider all the features and ability to install two ATI 5970’s in such a form factor case the price is very reasonable. This is a case that you could confidently recommend to family & friends for practically any application. Overall the NZXT VULCAN is a great choice for a wide variety of users looking for a decent sized case that packs the punch of bigger full size tower cases.”

“I'd recommend the NZXT Vulcan to anyone looking to build a nifty little LAN rig. Furthermore I'd suggest the case to anyone using mATX hardware. If the Vulcan was slightly larger I'd recommend it to anyone, so hopefully NZXT will make a larger version. Good job on a great mATX case, NZXT!”

"…you get what you pay for and for a mere 70 US Dollars the case offers plenty of features not found in any other chassis. On one hand you get the portability of a small system with the included sturdy grip on top. This is something very rare and coupled with the fact that you can still put the largest graphics cards into this case make for a unique case in the already crowded market place."

PCWizKid:

“The NZXT Vulcan is all about practicality. Pack it and carry it!  Its a straight forward design that is meant to achieve maximum performance within a small space and it just works! NZXT has gone all out with features and attention to detail. One thing I would of rather liked to see was the on/off switch for the LED's be at the from of the case instead with the fan controller. The screw less rail design and dust filters are a nice touch, however the lack of a rear 92mm fan means you have to get one. PCWizKid always wants proper airflow, and even though the NZXT has lots of options for optional fans the rear fan is a must. The side panel 200mm optional fan is not really needed however its there if you want to cool down the system further, however careful that you don't add a CPU cooler that is 165mm or larger with it. Other than that its a well rounded micro ATX gaming case that can allow you to build the latest an greats gaming rig and take it on the go!

“The NZXT Vulcan is a great case really, I truly like it a lot and there’s plenty for you to like as well.  The Vulcan has a lot of room even for large sized video cards, but yet the case is nice and small so you can easily take it with you using the included carrying handle.  Aesthetically the case is very nice looking, and it’s well made.  The handle on top of the case will easily hold the weight of the case so you can transport it with no problems or worries.  The Vulcan is an excellent case overall with little or no real issues.”

“Although I am doing Pros and cons as well as conclusion in the videos now let me just say this: The NZXT Vulcan is the best m-ATX case I have ever seen and it even rivals a couple full size ATX cases out there. NZXT are putting themselves in the position to tip the gaming chassis market scales in their favor. If they keep coming out with quality products like this Thermaltake and Cooler Master better keep on their toes. Good job NZXT great idea and very well executed design”

"The Vulcan is a compact chassis that has enough space for fast systems with high performance components. Sound and cooling performance are on a very good level and can be customized thanks to the integrated fan controller. The optional handle is a nice extra and strong enough to carry a complete systems. All-in-all NZXT managed to accomplish a nice complete package with the Vulcan, which offers great performance for the fair price of 60 Euro."

“At $70 USD, you really can't complain about the price and the value you get here. When you factor in that you have the ability to fit in some of the leading edge gear, and the overall cooling potential of this chassis it's a great deal no matter how you slice it. The portability of this unit is absolutely fantastic, this case light enough not to pose any issues even when loaded up, the handle should make short order of touting your LAN box around to your friends house. You also get a big brand name with major backing and a very sturdy box with subdued styling.”

“For those that never wanted to venture into the world of mATX computing may want to very it a look see now. The NZXT Vulcan combined with a nice overclocking motherboard like the ASUS Gene or MSI 890GX-65, you can have well made gaming rig. And it would be portable. The Vulcan is a sweet looking case. Even if you are not a fan of smaller form factor cases you cannot help but see the appeal here.  The simple lines joined by the mesh drive bays do say gaming but also say sleek. This is what we have come to see with many people that are producing small cases, they seems to put way too much flash and bling into them. Not in the case of NZXT and the new Vulcan. Even my wife though it was sweet looking. The Vulcan has all the room needed to build an awesome gaming rig. There is even room for Radeon HD 5970.  We found the NZXT Vulcan on a couple etailers’ sites going for just over $70. Not bad for a quality small form factor cases.”

“With some careful planning you'll avoid any potential clearance issues and end up with a really nice and compact gaming case that is easy to transport and will look great when you get there. The Vulcan retails for right around $75 so it's not going to empty your wallet either, and the two included fans should do a sufficient job of keeping your components cool, although additional cooling is possible.  OCIA.net awards the NZXT Vulcan Micro-ATX Gaming Case our Gold Seal of Approval.”

“NZXT has told us that the Vulcan will have a street price of $69.99. For that price the Vulcan is a very nice case that would suit very well for an mATX LAN system, and with its ability hold large components NZXT could have a winner on its hands.

Legit Bottom Line: The Vulcan, NZXT's newest addition to its Crafted Series, has great potential to be a nice LAN box with the right parts and a little planning.”
