The NZXT Whisper Classic Series Case accomplishes the goal it set out to do. Conquer noise. With a quietly designed system, unless I looked at the case and saw the lights, I'd be hard pressed to tell you if the system was even on. When we put our performance system together, with the noisy AMD 4870, the system was still quiet, even under load. Anyone looking to build a silent computer should certainly give the NZXT Whisper Classic Series Case a look. You still need to use silent components for a truly quiet to no noise setup, but just the NZXT Whisper Classic Series Case alone will quiet down what would otherwise be a noisy setup.

After using the Whisper for a few weeks I have to say the name fits. This is one of the quietest PC cases that I have encountered. Other than the sound of an occasional DVD being accessed I could barely tell when it was on. If you are looking for a near silent well built case with plenty of room for future expansion, then the NZXT Whisper is the case to have.

With seven external 5.25" bays available and a mind numbing nine internal 3.5" drive bays, the Whisper would make an excellent sever or NAS case with a need for lots of storage. With some features like the insulated panels, rubber power supply cover and the low noise fans included, you do get a quieter chassis than normal.

In all, after two weeks of working in much quieter environment I would have to say that on a day to day basis it’s made my workspace a much more peaceful and enjoyable place to get things accomplished. The NZXT WHISPER manages to deliver on it’s goal of a quiet PC and manages to do it with a simple and no-frills design that (silently) screams elegance.

NZXT Whisper is a high-end case with a quality and exclusive feel to it. There's just no doubt about it. The tool-free design, something I'm not a big fan of in general due to all too many poor executions in the past, is quite decent here and the whole rigid feeling of the case makes me want it, and I aim to keep it. The front door has an excellent pass form and every little detail feels worked through, excluding the perhaps bit narrow water tubing holes on the back.

The NZXT Whisper doesn't have all the flash of a traditional gaming case, but its striking look and powerful sound-killing capabilities make it just right for the aurally sensitive enthusiast.

A man can dream though. I wish they had included some power extenders so you don't have to stretch out your PSU. All in all this is a very good case and functions very well. I think that the NZXT Whisper should have a nice place in your next build.

The NZXT Whisper case has a multitude of options from Server Chassis to Silent PC and many combinations in between. While this is certainly not designed for maximum airflow for high end graphics cards in SLI or Crossfire it does offer a quiet solution for the hard drive fanatic or average gaming machine.

The roomy interior, concealed IO ports, room for 9 hard drives and 7 optical bays, insulating foam and quiet fans are all things I like about the Whisper. I don't really like the separate chambers for motherboard and PSU. In theory it's good but since the front does not include a fan for the upper chamber, it doesn't allow for proper airflow throughout the case and can be a problem with modern hardware like video cards that require positive air flow. I also didn't care for the locking mechanism on the IO panel nor the cheap rubber feet. I know some people love the tool-less optical drive feature but I just like my drives to feel as if they're fully secured when mounted so therefore I used plain old screws. Overall the Whisper has some very good functional features that a lot of people will appreciate.

The new NZXT Whisper is built like a modern server case should be. With its excellent storage features, high component support, unique noise dampening and truly whisper-quiet operation, there are few cases in its class that are built to please as well as the Whisper.

If you guys are looking for a new case, and volume is a concern, the NZXT Whisper is one of the best options I’ve seen so far. With the noise dampening, you’re able to have more powerful equipment in the case and get away with much lower noise levels.

The NZXT Whisper is officially my personal favorite full tower ATX case. The case has no decals or words printed on the exterior of it which I think makes the case look very clean. The front panel of the case opens up to reveal the optical drives and it is held shut by magnets so it isn't bound to break. This could be a problem for any users with accessories such as temperature readouts that have knobs protruding from the unit because you won’t be able to close the door. Externally, the case is nice but what really seals the deal is the interior of the case. What an amazing layout! First of all, every panel is padded with sound dampening material so when the case is on, you can barely hear anything at all. I could only hear the slight whirring of my extremely loud aftermarket CPU cooler. Also, the hard drives and power supply sit on rubber feet to eliminate the vibration sounds when they are on. Speaking of hard drives, there are nine bays for hard drives in this case! You’ll also be able to fit up to seven optical drives. I was worried about the cooling abilities of this case due to the anti-sound material but after testing it, we can see that it cools at about average temperatures. Heat was definitely not an issue here. Overall, if you’re looking for a full tower ATX case that is dead silent, the NZXT Whisper is the only solution. NZXT took every precaution to ensure that this case is as quiet as can be and all of their hard work paid off with this beautiful case.

The Whisper tackles some pretty lofty goals in pursuing a quiet setup in a functional and roomy layout. And it does wonderfully in those aspects, particularly for anyone that wants to reduce the noise levels in their case. And as we know, achieving a balance between lower temperatures and lower noise is always a very difficult thing. Here NZXT has found some positives and managed to accomplish those goals.

"There aren't a lot of cases on the market that come with sound dampening material. I'm not sure why this is considering it's relatively inexpensive. Thankfully the NZXT Whisper Case does have this foam on the side panels and the top and it makes for a very quiet build. I wish they had included some on the bottom, back and front as well though. Besides this the case has a great look, lots of drive bays, a fair amount of room to work, but the motherboard tray is not removable.

Only a handful are available with the cheapest coming in around the $100 mark and it doesn't have near the storage or expansion capabilities. Anything offering the same features or close to that of the Whisper are going to run you $170 and more. That's something definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a quiet, spacious super case like the NZXT Whisper.
