“Still, the Panzerbox is one of the least expensive, most expansive small aluminum chassis we’ve seen. Build quality is high, stock air-cooling is workable (especially if you don’t use the lower HDD chassis), and the motherboard tray is a useful feature.”

“So you are looking for a case small enough to take to a LAN event, but big enough to house your twin graphic card system that's also got a CPU water loop... with a pot a Vaseline and some patience the Panzerbox could indeed be the case for you. The airflow is great if you don't use the vertical hard drives and don't mind the noise of the fans, and the layout does use the space wisely if you don't want to have the side off (or a window) showing off your kit inside. The size and the fact it is water cooling ready are a definite bonus, if you don't want to look at the internals but just have a system that's quick to build, is cool and just works then this should definitely be a case that is on your short list.”

“Once you get the NZXT Panzerbox out the box and into your hands, you immediately know what the case is all about. The complete aluminum architecture of the case is amazing and very strong. I had my doubts before opening the box but that was shortly lived. This is one of the sturdiest and strong cases I have ever touched.”

“The NZXT Panzerbox is an excellent case, with a few interesting features that I like. It's obvious that thought went into the design and effort went into its appearance. With its low-profile finish, gentle curves and sleek black mesh, it's beautiful, functional and different. If you don't need to get into your system a lot, and you can afford a cheap fan controller, this case is highly recommended.”

“The modablilty of this case is a no brainer. The aluminum build and open areas are like an open invitation. Although there are no windows in the case doors the aluminum will cut like butter. Adding water cooling is a given and some paint could really turn this case into a head turner. Taking some time to fix the minor issues of the drive cage and removing the bottom section for better air flow would be an easy weekend project. While your add it figure out your own case handle and you have a slick LAN machine ready to go.”

“Overall, the price is extremely reasonable for what you get. The Panzerbox offers many ammenities that are not commonly found in cases that cost twice as much. If a removable motherboard tray is more valuable to you than toolless drive installation then you may have just found a bargain.”

"The airflow of the case is simply amazing. It adds a lot of cooling potential, and even greatly increasing thermal management capabilities. For all those power hungry and scorching hot components, this would be a great case to check out in order to accommodate your components both physically and thermal-wise. The chassis itself is also built very solid and aesthetically pleasing, while being clean and simple at the same time. Space is also a major plus for this case, as the widened stance gave more room for installing components as well as increasing airflow."

“There are tons of neat features that are geared toward gamers looking for a stylish, yet highly functional case for their high-end computer components. The addition of three high CFM fans combined with the ability to mount custom watercooling systems really creates an ideal environment for today's hardware that operates at higher temperatures and needs more than adequate cooling to run at its best performance level…our overall opinion of the Panzerbox is very positive and its current price point makes it an even more attractive solution when we compare it against the likes of Lian Li and Silverstone cases, to name a few.”

“The NZXT Panzerbox chassis is a interesting departure from the typical case designs we have seen over the years. Relocating the power supply has some very positive results with minimal design and installation issues. I would have no problem bringing this case around for a weekend's play. NZXT is known for their quality and this case is no exception. The finish is even and beautiful, the edges smooth. Nearly every design decision seems to be based around airflow and ease of use. I feel the Panzerbox delivers on so many levels while staying in an attractive price point just over $100. I would definitely recommend the Panzerbox for your next supercooling project or traveling build.”

"The NZXT Panzerbox is a great case. The company has had the guts to design a completely new case, while trying to be able to stuff the same amount of parts into much less overall space. That mission has succeeded beautifully, with a full size ATX mainboard tray, four hard drives and three optical drive bays. NZXT even goes the extra mile.....

“I've always been a fan of innovative designs and therefore, I really like the NZXT Panzerbox. Though it is a performance-oriented case, with its two 190mm fans and vented structure, it still looks good. I particularly enjoyed the fact that installation is made very simple due to the removable motherboard tray, copious amounts of interior room, and thumbscrews everywhere. The build quality is also very good and the case feels sturdy yet manages to have a low weight. All things considered, the NZXT Panzerbox is a case that I would have no reservations recommending. Take a look at it if you're looking for a well-built case that performs extremely well - you won't be disappointed.”

“In the end I found that the NZXT Panzer box is a great little case. One of the things that I really liked about this case turned out to ruin one of my favorite personal preferences with gaming cases was the cable management. So in the end I would have to say that If you are looking for a great little computer case that’s small, light, and compact yet extremely easy to work in, I would have to say that the NZXT Panzerbox should be near the top of your next shopping list. With this little case you can fit almost any sized MOBO that you could think of in and some of the larger CPU coolers out there as well, while not sacrificing airflow or good looks in the process.”

The main impression I had after reviewing the case was, that it sure is nice to see something out of ordinary every now and then. NZXT took a bold step by revamping the internal layout, and the layout of the Panzerbox sure has some merits. It also did well in our temperature tests.

“The NZXT Panzerbox is a well built and designed case, it might be small but it offers up lots of room and it's big on features. I really like this case actually, I'm going to be using it for another system actually, a gaming system that will be connected to my 47” HDTV via HDMI. It's going to sit next to my entertainment center, which is black in color also so it should fit right in. “The Panzerbox is an amazing case with very few drawbacks; it’s sturdy, quiet, roomy and has some sleek aesthetics both inside and out. NZXT has really broken the mold here, challenging traditional notions of what a mid-tower case can be, even should be. The Panzerbox is compact and functional, yet stylish and versatile as well. It’s not nearly as restrictive as a smallform case, yet it’s almost as portable as one. It seems that NZXT has managed to fuse the best of both worlds here into a case that sets a new standard. Perhaps more interesting is that the Panzerbox has amazing airflow that can beat even a full tower case without breaking a sweat. This is uncommon for smaller cases, resulting usually in designs that are gaudy or noisy, or just downright foolish. Yet NZXT has redefined those notions, both in form and function. Cases that are marketed as LAN boxes are usually a miss; they are too small or lack proper cooling, or else they’re too big or heavy. There’s always something that seems to prevent success. However, the Panzerbox avoids these traps and is truly an amazing LAN box without question. Portable, sleek, light and with a great price of about $100 USD, the NZXT Panzerbox may be lightweight in form but is a heavyweight in performance. It is a clear winner in our books.”

“Overall, the Panzerbox is a very well made and attractive case that is priced on par with other "mid-level" enthusiast cases. After lugging it around for a few weeks I can also say that while it is not the lightest gaming case I've ever had, it is certainly not akin to lugging around a boat anchor. Shopping around the web, one can find the Panzerbox for around $120.00 at places like Newegg.com, where there is currently a mail in rebate that brings the final price down to $100. While this is not cheap for a midtower case, it is well priced for a unit that offers so many user friendly features and refined touches. Overall, the NZXT Panzerbox earns the Bigbruin.com "Gaming Approved" award for its gamer friendly features.”

“NZXT has definitely produced a top notch product here. Never have I had so much room in a mid-tower case, or experienced this much airflow. While this case lacks phosphorescent bling (a huge plus IMHO), it definitely makes up for it with it’s slick design and featherweight architecture. For serious gamers on the go, this case is for you, and while $119 is up there if you are on a budget, you get what you pay for and then some. The NZXT Panzerbox is definitely champion material and deserves the TechwareLabs Awesome Hardware Award.”

“The NZXT Panzer was designed to help make portability be an option for someone who is building a system around a full ATX motherboard and using larger graphics cards with the possibility of multiple graphics card setups. With this in mind, the Panzerbox satisfies these goals nicely with many options such as removable motherboard trays and hard drive cages, which are normally reserved for normal tower cases. Though the case doesn’t feature any lighting, the dark subtlety of the case is better suited to the dark appearance, in my personal opinion. The overall construction of the case is sturdy with only the removable HDD cage and the side panels feeling a little on the flimsy side. The thumb screws are a nice touch for securing the components and make for a fairly simple assembly, though care should be taken that the correct screws are used for the right parts because they appear the same but the threads of the screws are different, leading to the possibility of cross threading the holes and damaging the screw or the case. Overall, the case is built well with a nice set of features for the size and the price.”

I can't believe we haven't seen a case like this before! I know so many gamers that wished they could make their system more compact and this is a great solution. Many people (including me) have gone the mATX route in making their system smaller, but this is a way to do it without having to buy a new motherboard. The Panzerbox sells for around $120 online, which is a great price point for all that this case offers. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few of these at the next LAN party that I'm at. In addition to its lightweight aluminum construction and removable motherboard tray, the NZXT Panzerbox also features a mostly tool-less design, a good-looking all-black interior with strategically placed holes for easy cable management, and accommodations for liquid cooling. There is a pair of pass-throughs with preinstalled rubber grommets on the back of the case for tubing, and a radiator can be mounted at the top in place of the 190mm fan. Overall, I really liked the look of the Panzerbox; it has a roomy interior and a convenient removable motherboard tray. It’s also easy to work with. Its slightly smaller-than-normal stature and light weight also make it an ideal candidate for LAN gamers who don’t want to skimp on their cases.

The NZXT Panzerbox offers a wide arrange of features and holds its own in cooling. For a small ATX form factor case, the Panzerbox excels in ease of use, dominant features and pleasing looks. From top to bottom, the case is coated all back, and made from pure aluminum. It accommodates up to three fans, two being massive 190mm fans, sports a removable motherboard tray and is the perfect size for anyone looking to buy a mid to high end case, HTPC, and especially the LAN gamer. One of the best parts, is its weight. NZXT states its 50% lighter than most ATX form factor cases and surely lives up to its word.

The huge 190mm fans move a ton of air, making this a good choice for high performance systems. Full length graphics cards fit despite the relatively shallow depth, thanks to the clever placement of 3.5-inch drive mounts. The power supply placement seems weird, but when you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. Problems with accessing your system due to the PSU placement are mitigated with the easy-access tray.

First and foremost I like the sleek, black, sexy lines that the Panzerbox offers and I think the way the doors align is pretty “trick” as well. With NZXT asking a projected price of $120, you can get yourself one hell of a “sleeper” LAN box with room and options for everything you could want to do inside the Panzerbox, within reason. This solid, compact all aluminum case has made quite the impression in my mind. It just very well may make it into my personal circulation as a rig to travel with, versus toting my Raven over to Chris’ house.
