View Full Version : My Lexa S.....Lexy
Hi all, Just joined as i am working on a Lexa S.
at the minute it is watercooled but not aesthetically pleasing to look at.
pictures will be posted once it looks nicer.
a few of the other mods i have planned include:-
Changing the front panel LED's to white
Making a Black acrylic Box next to the PSU to hide some wires
Braiding my psu
Changing the fans to one with white leds
Mounting a dual 4inch white cold cathode
Sorry for the bad drawing in paint but this should give you an idea of where everything fits

Interesting, Any mod on a Lexa S is awesome, and I'm not saying that because I have one :D.
The white light should make it look pretty cold and cool.
Got any PC specs? what mobo you using I'd only ever fit a white cathode in my case if I had a nice looking Mobo (the one I have is brown with blue bits) so I'm stuck with the blue led's
I'm planning on watercooling sometime in the future so some pic's would be very helpful.
I have an amd athlonx2 4400+ at the min looking at getting a 955BE in the next couple of weeks.
Mobo is an asus m3n78-vm but this is going to get changed aswell. just looking into what works best aswell as looking good, im thinking the Asus M3N_HT. I know its an AM2+ socket but i love the look of the heatsinks all across the board and it'll look good with the Heatkiller Cpu block.
I have an enermax modu 82+ psu of which i have braided all the modular cables that i need aswell as the 8 and 4 pin ATX power. just got to do the 24pin.
all braid is black from MDPC-X (this was my first attempt at braiding, it get really annoying after a while)
Cooling components
ddc laing/swiftech 355 pump
heatkiller rev 3 cpu block
xspc rx 120 rad
Xigmatek 120mm XLF-F1254 x3. 1 front intake, 1 side intake, 1 back radiator
Xigmatek 140mm XLF-F1455 x1. top exhaust
Im in hospital next week and then i plan to work on it when im recovering and skiving from work. so hopefully in 2weeks it should nearly be finished.
thanks for the interest, and any comments/suggestions are more than welcome.

Nice black mobo. Those heatsinks look awesome (I like copper)
Just noticed how it might be better to put your pump/res in the 5.25 area assuming you have just the one optical drive..and it's in the top slot. It might be better to put your HDD lower just so it's directly behind the fan and the pump isn't too far away from the radiator and cpu block.
Something I'd like to add is about the acrylic box idea, nice way of hiding wires. Mine are currently stuffed mostly out of site under my HDD (and round the back plate of the case).
I've been thinking of putting a wall between the hdd cage and the psu so I could mount a fan upwards at the end of the graphics card. Maybe you could do the same with your wire box, my hd 4870 isn't one of the fully enclosed exhaust style cards so Vram temps get quite high.

Lexy should look sexy :) Cannot wait to see it!
i broke the thread on one of my barb fittings, so cut up the panels for the acrylic box last night.
the front lights are now all white and all connected to psu power and not Mobo (mainly because the flashing light when it goes into sleep annoys the hell out of me).
might get a pic up of the lights later, but im in hospital on sunday for a few days so im gonna have to wait to get it finished :(
replacement barbs arrived 2weeks ago but the thread was too long to fit into the feser 45deg rotary fitting i have, had to wait another week to get some feser barbs.
but the good news is that all the water cooling is installed.
changed the idea of the acrylic box slightly....it now covers the length of the psu
phenom 2 getting intalled tonight and then i can start looking at getting the new mobo

Very cool. Glad to see you made it outta the hospital fine. I look forward to pics! I will be ripping my case apart Friday (I hope) when my 5770 comes in (for crossfire)...but judging by their shipping page I'm not sure if it'll be here friday. I also ordered the extension with it so I'll be able to wrap my 8 pin around.
