i see you mightve taken my advice about the subwoofer lol that kicker bangs right my brother had two kicker cvrs 12" and they banged almost as hard as my much more expensive subs :) u might wanna check the specs for that sub that box may be too big (too much air space just as bad as not enough air space) if u dont mind me asking is that box ported?

Indeed, three ports I gotta find the proper length to cut them at.

Haha, I see you're replying to wicked old threads but I thought I'd reply. After this car I ended up getting a 15in PSI 3000w rms. This is me driving it at only 1000w rms

The place that sorts my hardware is linked below, I remember that they fired the chevy up, we crancked the bass up and my son of about 18 yrs at the time said that he put his head in through the front window (as I had had suggested) and he said that he felt the Bass was sucking his body into the car! lol

He did say to me afterwards, that he now understood my love of Bass!

Right then Dave (Mr Hifi), I have the HCCA 15" and I am running 2 x 1000 watt (rms) Tittan pro-plus amps, sound ok but I can only run it at full tilt for about 20 minutes and then it distorts. I`m thinking, do I need more electricity, eg another battery, or a better amp (or 2)?

A stiffening cap might help, It provides deep cycle current for the sub amp which keeps the mid and high end from distorting. Really hard to say without actually looking at the system and wiring man.

Cheerz Dave, I see the caps are graded in Farads, how many farads per 1000 watts rms and will I need one per amp?
Just sold my Kawasaki Gpx600r as well, as it was getting a bit old!

I don't think you guys are as old as me :D
They recommend 1 Farad per 1000 Watts. You can grab a 4 Farad cap for around 100 bucks right now.

So do I need 2 x capps for 2 x Amps or would say a 4 farad capp do both amps?
David Mack

Looks like I am older than you by a year lol.
4 Farad should do both just make sure to place it within a foot of your sub amp. It has the biggest draw and stiffening caps are ineffective more than 12 inches away from the amp.
(4 gauge should be fine for 2 amplifiers)

Haha, Dave, Looks like is I is older than you if you haven`t lied in your profile!
Anyway, My Amps are bolted to the Sub.
Can`t remember much about wiring it, but I`m assuming Battery then Fuse (both under the hood), then power lead through car to the boot and I must have spilt it into 2 for the amps, so if I put the Capp just before the split, it should suffice there shouldn`t it and its within the 12 inches you mentioned?

I have my age section filled out mistook your age for your post count, 43 :o
On the caps they are pretty generic ATM. On the split under a foot good to go brother.

HAHA mate re the dates of birth, I used to admin a site, so I tend to spot things and guessed you mistaken my post count for age in my profile! lol
So is that cap link above about right in terms of cost and brand etc, I think it worked roughly 100 bucks with postage, but the postage was over 40 bucks, which is nearly as much as the item itself!

Generally the way it works but keep in mine 10 years ago 1 Farad cost 250 without shipping. Not a bad price Bro and it will help :)
