Hello,

I have always loved NZXT products. Most of my computers have been built with NZXT products.

I have fallen in love with the avatar mouse that was just released. I really wanted to buy that mouse to go with my saitek eclipse (blue) keyboard.

Is there some place to buy the avatar mouse? Or is there a date when it will be available?

NZXT has released all of their original stock of Avatars for reviews and testing, I believe.

I would expect the mouse to start showing up some time in September.

we're definitely working to push the stock live. It's scheduled to get to the port this weekend. HOPEFULLY, we can put it up for sale by next week or the week after. Have a great weekend everyone. :)

Can't wait Dood. I caught of glimpse of the mouse as I was walking by the TV and G4's Attack of the Show was talking about it. Too bad I wasn't watching the TV, so I barely got a 2 second look at it. Then jumped on the interwebz and fell in love. :)

It's gonna replace my G5 rev. 2, which by no means needs a replacement, but man it's just so sexy.

Now, nzxt just needs to come out with a keyboard....

I've been thinking about this... is there really need for a "gaming" keyboard. couple issues we saw with this.

1. Mainly for desktop audiences.
2. Macros, extra keys are optional and definitely not a must.
3. Gamers have been using standard wasd configuration for so long they are use to it

What's your opinion?

agreed that we are used to standard layouts, but we all love the little gadgets and lights :P
just make sure if u do make one it has media player controls!

You're talking about a gaming pad, right Johnny?

I think a full out keyboard would be great. If you set up a consistent design between the Avatar and this keyboard, and did **** like chrome WASD keys (i think Saitek's Cyborg has that) and some quiet key presses, which would be nice, then you have some serious promise in a KB..

For a keyboard I think one with customizable wasd heights and angles for a more ergonomic feel, I also think one that has a variable backlight color would be cool, like those Phillips TVs that project a general backlight color of whats on the screen. Ambilight would be cool in cases too. http://www.visit4info.com/sitecontent/LG/fullZZZZZZTVC061027110654PIC.jpg

Underlighting in cases would be PIMP

No real "need" because I think Logitech and Saitek have this market by the throat. Maybe not in market share, that probably goes to OEMs like HP and such. But in terms of features, function, and form Logitech's pretty much nailed it with the G11 and G15.

1. Agreed. But this could be adapted to Home Theatre PC (HTPC) folks! Perhaps design a gaming keyboard that is both wired/wireless. Create a hollowing in the back to coil up the cable, dump in double AAs (or use a rechargable lithium ion battery), and go wireless instead. If you don't need a wireless keyboard, uncoil the cable, and plug'er in. No one's done this, right?

2. Macros aren't necessary. I know haven't used a single macro on my G15.

3. Agreed. I wouldn't touch this design. I think the folks at Ideazon tried to reinvent the gaming keyboard with an integrated/interchangable gamepad. Don't think it ever picked up enough steam.

If I were to buy a keyboard from NZXT, I'd expect:

1. Aesthetically sexy! Just like the avatar (black and blue works great).
2. Backlit keys. Even better if you could change the colors.
3. LCD screen, like the G15. Would be great if it were compatible with Logtiech G15 apps.
4. Satisfying "click" to keystrokes.
5. Macros. Not necessary, though.
6. Insert/Home/PageUp/Down/Delete/End keys in the standard 2x6 configuration. I still use arrow keys for gaming when I can. Only go WASD for games like Oblivion where I need a lot of hotkeys.
7. Would appreciate USB 2.0 ports, also not necessary.
8. Multimedia keys: Play/Pause, Stop, RW/FFWD, Chapter FWD/RWD, and volume control.

A nzxt keyboard would be cool ... however I think the saitek eclipse goes perfectly with the nzxt avatar. If nzxt made a keyboard I would think that it would match the sleekness of the nzxt avatar like the saitek eclipse does.

I think all the macros and crap are a waste of time. I think making a simple ... well made keyboard ... with backlit keys is where it is at. I think the logitech keyboards are just too much crap I would never use.

I thought the exact same thing a couple of days ago. My Avatar will go well with my Saitek Eclipse II, and I got that for ?25 ($50). So unless d00d can come up with a well built NZXT keyboard for the same price or less...

We haven't had very good luck with design contests, the stuff tends to be very amateur.

my design and completion of the first (to my knowledge) electric guitar with integrated self contained amplifier :D

(nzxt isnt interested in helping me to produce these by any chance are they???)

[edit]

also have you tried putting the compition on something like deviantart.com?? they run competitions for companies, then u get very talented artists, and people come to the site from there?

I'm so glad Nzxt decided to make this mouse amberdextrious. I have been using the Logitech G3 since it came out because the side buttons are perfect for my left hand and its comfortable . I hope this mouse is as friendly for us lefties as the reviews claims it is. If so I am buying 4. Me and my kids as well as my wife are all left handed pc gamers. Congrats Nzxt on the Avatar and good luck on the product launch.

So I've spotted a couple in the wild. Looks like AeroCooler (http://www.google.com/product_url?q=http://www.aerocooler.com/shop.cart%3Faction%3DITEM%26prod_id%3DMONZAVT&fr=AMpDOPDLw_PziuSmb1Xo_izazgWdblkYefTiUqhUIDMzk7q 8iy6wrVKWjtrzCzJQuV5hiwFiL3Ivh8aKYva8WTJl_yASLClwf TpDvMC1VtcEniyrggIFurF6t1778asjRAAAAAAAAAAA&gl=us&hl=en&sa=merchant)and Chiefpick (http://www.google.com/product_url?q=http://cgi.ebay.com/NZXT-MOU-NT-AVATAR-Avatar-2600-dpi-USB-Gaming-Mouse_W0QQitemZ200254171568QQihZ010QQcategoryZ9688 7QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem%3Frefid%3Dstore&fr=AOmJhmSS0kFvpzZe3ZWea4TNRip4a9DVuZvlfpfSY81-MRMq6uhueMSWXXkY2CZHULzhHPf-7Zr6BIa33ZPjER7gatnfUvXMDQYf7-jIKUUSLkzRhPJ8c5W5aOHkcLfL3cc8AGlMlHymsUsCDf3DZQ7M wlNTaoiQ_JeJGaA8hj7yEmX3Mcw8vP0exTu43kYd-j4UV9-o_1EMYNvmarULLmRpDLvx_sIpXhr_R5Tcaj1klyyGBTVmJjelZ _c_l-VN9ww2lDvCLt6oC9dcXQAV767TYJsSL62iigAAAAAAAAAA&gl=us&hl=en&sa=merchant)have them up for sale. Whether or not they actually have them in stock is another thing. Resellerratings.com doesn't quite give these guys sparkling reviews, and of the negative ones, it's apparent they often have things listed "in stock" when they're not.

Waiting for MWave or NewEgg to get em!

Amazon will probably be the fastest to get these. About the 64bit problems that are appearing in some reviews, we've already got a new driver coming to fix that.

Best way to use this mouse is with the middle finger on the scroll ( at least that's the way i've gotten accustomed to it. )

Wohoo ! I got my Avatar in today.I ordered it off of Amazon.com last week. The drivers for it are unpolished. I can't get the side button to accept a Button Assignment. Also ... I had to dremel the side buttons down a little... They're out way too far and you easily hit them in game. Otherwise its a smooth mouse. :)

mine took about 5 days. But be warned . Drivers are not working worth a crap. Random lock ups ... profiles change wile your gaming for no reason. Mouse sticks at 2600 dpi when you dont even have it selected in your profile. Manual isnt correct. There are options in the manual that you dont have in your avatar desktop. You CANNOT fine tune DPI 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,etc like in setpoint from logitech. There are only 5 presets of dpi to choose from.

Why is it that so many NZXT products never seem to come to Sweden? None of the NZXT PSU:s, the NZXT cryo, the NZXT sentry LX, the NZXT Avatar, NZXT Khaos, NZXT.... WHy WHY??!?!?!
