HU001 front door discolored

I was very upset to see that the front panel of my box changed color (brown-orange), propably after a "thorough" cleaning by my wife :(.
I would be obliged if you advised me of a way to restore this magnificent black finish or if there is a way to purchase just the front door as this is a new box.

i believe it may be possible to purchase another front panel, ive had one sent out for my Zero and i know others who have had them sent out also. the best bet would be to PM Ghost, or wait until he stumbles upon this tread to help you out. it may not be too long, he's often lurking around somewhere! very 'ghost' like.... =P
brown-orange? thats a shame! i dont know what kind of chemicals she could have been using! unfortunately paint and plastic is often susceptible to harsh things! im not sure how you could restore the colour without painting it black, but then i think it would not look the same, ie. different texture/glossness. so i think i new front panel would be the option for the best results!

Thank you for your reply. It's true that just painting it would be awfull, but I had in mind special chemicals used to changing the color of aluminium. Anyway I will see what price I must pay for the front door before trying to repair it myself. And to be honest I dont think my wife used any special chemicals beyond common household cleaners. Now whether the paint should not be destroyed this way or it should be noted in the manual that it should not be cleaned with anything except water is another painfull story:mad:

there may be some chemicals to use to treat it, but i still dont think you will get the same result, although as a last resort it would probably be better
