If you've got so much money to drop, you should go with a PCPC silencer psu. it's worth it for the single rail design and quailty control.

Even though it doesn't have modular cabling, you can always just tie it back, and there's lots of room for hiding in the alpha.

Otherwise, that looks like a very solid build.

you also may have problems installing the front fan, what are its dimensions?

I've read that If your careful, you can nudge a 25mm wide fan into
the front of an alpha. I went wt the thermaltake because I've had good luck
wt them. PCPC has received good reviews. Some of there colors are a bit loud. As far as the money goes. I've been waiting a while to build my comp.
One for my sis last winter. One for Dad this winter. Ma this spring.
IT'S MY TURN. OMG I still use a CRT

Thanks for the reply

what sort of quality CRT we talking here? proper high end one with a stupidly high resolution which might actually make use of two graphics cards or a standard cheaper one which wont?

if its the former then you'd have a better time gaming if you spend less on the computer and more on a better monitor, speakers/headphones, mouse keyboard etc etc

the whole point of high end hardware is so tht it can power high end peripherals, otherwise its like taking a really big monster truck engine and putting it in a morris minor or something, you cant physically use all the power at your disposal.

alternativly scrap one of the graphics cards and get more ram, you also dont need a PSU with that much power so scale that down a bit and save yourself some cash. personally id put the money towards silencing it, or a good mouse (mx518 is still the best).

I am still using an old 19inch dell M991 max res 1600 by 1200 supports 32bit color. I plan to get a 22inch Samsung 2253bw. The second GPU
is most likely 3 or 4 months out after initial build. This is my reason for 2
of my choices. You think I could run this set up wt a good 700watts?

i think you could run that set up with a good 400 maybe 450 watt

id go with a 550 just to be on the safe side though.

(unless those cards eat way more power than ah they should, regardless i maintain u dont need a second anyway so its not a problem :))

Ran the power calculations for the whole er wish list.
IE. I included 2 more sticks of ram, second vidcard and HDD.
also included minor things like wireless pci card ,usb controlers etc.
If I put everything I want(not need) in the box I should be ok wt 700watts

This seems like a must have for gamers

You make a point about the second vid card. I use a 780i based comp(when I can get on it) running a 9600gt and q9300 clocked at 3200htz wt fsb of 426.
It runs COD4 at fairly high settings just fine.
Gpu clocked at 725 and DDR3 vid mem at 1000
