Could we do a list of components that DONT fit in the Lexa??
I am thinking of buying one if someone can convince me that the hard drive noise isnt too bad, but already I have seen two parts i wanted to get (Mobo and PSU) dont really fit right in the case!
no... we should make a list of parts that DO fit!
think optimistically X3

Hmmm... Let's see...
Parts that will Fit:
(1) Pretty much any micro ATX or Standard ATX motherboard
(2) Pretty much any PSU in the standard size range ~ 150mm W x 150mm D x 86mm H.
(3) Any CPU cooler that is compatible with your motherboard and rises 135mm or less from the PCB.
(4) All optical drives, floppy drives and hard drives with standard mounting hole patterns.
(5) All 5-1/4" and 3-1/2" bay devices that extend less than 1/2" out from the front of the drive bay and which extend the full length of the drive bay (for mounting with the rails).
(6) Any water cooling system with an external radiator, preferably not mounted to the back of the case.
(7) Pretty much any expansion card 245mm or less in total length, provided it does not interfere with access to any of the internal connectors or surface components on your motherboard.
In other words... Pretty much anything that will fit in a standard Mid-Tower case will fit in a Lexa.
Parts that won't Fit:
(1) AT, Baby AT, EATX, BTX or any propriatory motherboards. (No, Zippy, the internals out of your old Compaq SystemPro XL DIDN'T just find a snazzy new home!)
(2) Most oversized PSUs (some may fit if you remove the 80mm fan in the top of the case, it's up to you)
(3) That radical custom water cooling kit you can't live without, the one with the triple 120mm fan radiator.
(4) 120mm x 38mm fans (won't fit in the front intake position)
(5) While it's probably technically possible to mount them, full height drives are not recommended. (Sorry, find another home for those antique full height 5-1/4" SCSI drives you've been dying to find a use for)
Yes, you can probably mod the Lexa to MAKE them fit but really... wouldn't it just make more sense to buy a case designed to accomodate them instead?

Does that mean the Silverstone ST60F wont fit??
Its dimensions are 150 mm (W) x 86 mm (H) x 180 mm (D)
bugger :(

I know, I really like the way they did the cable connections on the ST60F and I was all set to buy one for my Lexa until I realized that I'd have to remove or relocate the top case fan. It's only about 5mm too long so it doesn't really block the hole, just prevents you from mounting the fan.

Is that the only reason it wont fit? can you fit a smaller fan or shave a bit off the fan and get it on? I guess there is no reason why the fan cant go on the bottom of the case and draw air in, cant see how that would be any less effective?

(7) Pretty much any expansion card 245mm or less in total length, provided it does not interfere with access to any of the internal connectors or surface components on your motherboard.
I presume you mean like video cards etc, is this gonna be a bad limitation? what size are most video cards these days? At this stage thats all I will be fitting to it PCI wise...

A standard ATX motherboard is 245mm wide. Most if not all mainstream cards are shorter than that.

Hmm, well that would be a massive card then... cool
The only thing REALLY holding me back now is the noisy drive cage issue, can anyone reassure me it isnt THAT bad? And that the top fan can be relocated to the bottom?
I guess I will have to live without the front firewire, as the only mopbo I want is the ASUS one that the cable wont reach...

OK I got hte thermaltake toughpower 750w modular psu and it fits with the fan in the top you just have to take the fan out to plug some of the wires in to the psu, then the fan goes back on fine
i got the asus m2n32 sli deluxe mobo and the front firewire cable gets on fine, maybe i got a longer cable :D
Carefull with that Mobo or more specifically the RAM you use with it. AM2 boards at this time are real real picky. I've read many people are having posting problems and it always seems to be because of the RAM.
I suggest you check Corsair's website and look for their ram that is compatable with that board.

my old computer is an asus mobo and had ram issues with that with cheap generic ram so there was no way i was gonna make the same mistake this time round
i got corsair and i got the one recommended on their website, ddr2 800 xms 4-4-4-12 twin sticks, so hopefully it should be all good :D
if it ever arrives that is!
