Hi,

i connected the cpu fan to the 3 pin connector of the nemesis.the other i put nto the connector on the motherboard.
The Sensor is directly on the cpu (amd 64bit 3200+)
But i get the warnig overheated on the boot up
what do i do wrong?

Ive had my case for a month and it does the same thing I think. Blinks HI all the time, no temp just HI. Is that what yours is doing? I have tryed everything even moved that sensor to diffrent spots. I either get the HI warning or it blinks Nothing --. I think the sensor is broke. I just switched sensors with the HDD and now have the HDD on the CPU and it gives me temps now. The one that was on CPU is on the HDD and blinks -- all the time. I guess you could write to support and they might send you out a new part. I just have learned to live with it. Hope that helps, not that it resolved anything.

I destroyed my CPU connector by putting it between cpu and cooler.

you get the HI message when, the 2 metal wires have a direct connection.

Oh wow, That would do it. Your lucky you didn't fry your CPU. Mine have never worked, I just have mine down the side of the heatsink down to the CPU. But still I think my is defective anyways. The metal wires are fine. Oh well no biggie to me.

Yeah, you're not supposed to place it directly between the HS and the CPU because the HS will crush it, I've heard next to it....or int he fins of the HS...

Thats right, and on top of that....you will fry your CPU because the heat wont transfer from CPU to heatsink.

and on top of that u can crush the core that way.

Main places to put temperature sensors for the cpu are:

1. Directly on the side of the heatsink BASE with thermal tape
2. If you dont have thermal tape, places it between the fins toward the center of the heatsink, and make sure that it is placed so it stays as close to the base of the heatsink as possible.
3. if you really honest to god know what you are doing, and you have a 32bit processor (like a barton) you can run it between the pins CAREFULLY, making sure it still takes no force to lock the proc into place, and leave it so that the temp sensor is directly under the proc after installtion (this is how I ran mine, and it was 100% accurate)

The first two options, for me, are never more than 1C off and usually on the high side (as in hotter than the diode reading).

I guess this is the worst part of a computer... the smallest little problem can cause the whole system to be crushed. Thank god, I got a expert building my computer. :P
