There is no possible common, static setting for the alarm-temps of the sensors that are coming with the LCD-Board, since you can place the three cable-sensors in your case whereever you want, everyone will be using different computerparts with also different temp-conductings into his case, may overclock the CPU with more heading, and as last the ambient temperature (room-temp) will be different with all users in every time of the year also.
This factors are impinging the result of every temperature-measurement as immense. Therefore the alarm-levels are chooseable by the user.
For example, I have placed the the SYS-sensor between two of the radiator ribs of the graphiccard, the CPU-sensor between two of the radiator ribs of the CPU and the HDD-sensor I have fixed on the metal-surface of my HDD. To place the CPU-sensor between CPU-surface and its radiator-plate directly as suggested by NZXT to get an more exact temp-display, wasn?t possible with my CPU (not enought space between CPU and radiator), but it doesn?t cares.
For setting the alarm-levels for each sensor, first I had notified the displayed temps just after booting the computer into Windows (in ticking over the computer - with no running programs).
Then I?ve started several programs for 10mins that loaded a very high CPU-stress and made a note about the temp, what the LCD displayed as CPU-temp. So I got a overview about the usual temp-range of the CPU. Now I added 10?C to the highest CPU-display-level and entered this as alarmtemp for the CPU.
Alike this I have started to defrag the HDD and observed the climbing temp that the LCD has displayed. When the HDD-temp was archieved it?s highest level, I had added 10?C for this temp and entered the result as alarmlevel for the HDD-temp.
As last I?ve started an 3D-Benchmarking-program to get the max. graphiccard-temp, added 10?C to the highest displayed level and entered it as SYS-alarmtemp.
My results in following overview(room-temp almost 28-35?C, what means 82.4?F-95?F in summer):
In tick over the computer:
CPU: 36?C (96.8?F)
HDD: 33?C (91.4?F)
Graphiccard(SYS): 44?C (111.2?F)
In full stressing every part:
CPU: 48?C (118.4?F)
HDD: 44?C (111.2?F)
SYS: 55?C (131?F)
current Alarm-settings:
CPU: 58?C (136.4?F)
HDD: 54?C (129.2?F)
SYS: 65?C (149?F)
But as called, the alarmlevels that I have entered here, only affects with my computer as it stays in my living-room as it?s beeing summer now. You have to choose your wished alarmlevels of your computer (and change it sometimes perhaps) for yourself - alike everyone has to choose these for himself.
