SATAII Vs SLI, is how i see it but i dont need a second vid card and can't afford it but in the future i may get SATAII, so i might want that.

See if there are any other spec that i'm missing.

well either that or you could get both on the same board. theres a really good one from gigabyte that does that.

PCI express is 16x. Usually there are what 20 lanes (I think...can't think for some reason right now) and 16x is between the PCI express...if you have SLI, and 2 video cards installed, each gets 8x. The other slots are all 1x as the norm, so if you have 16x on the PCI express and there are 20 lanes, you would have 4 lanes at 1x...that is probably where you are seeing the x4.

? One PCI Express x4 slots (support PCI Express x2 only)
? One PCI Express x1 slots (support PCI Express Bus specification v1.0a compliant)

????????? now im all stuffed in the head ?????????????

From web site:

? One PCI Express x16 slot (supports PCI Express Bus specification v1.0a compliant)
? One PCI Express x4 slots (support PCI Express x2 only)
? One PCI Express x1 slots (support PCI Express Bus specification v1.0a compliant)
? Four 32-bit v2.3 Master PCI bus slots (support 3.3v/5v PCI bus interface).

So, there are 21 slots. There is a given amount of throughput over all of the bus. The x16 puts 16 slots into a dedicated single bus rather than 16 single ones. I have not heard of the hardware that uses x2. I know that the slot is larger for the 16x than 1x, but I have not heard of the x2.

Looks like some extra research is in order...may take a day or two, but now I am curious.
